I stop at why I choose Blogger as free method of making money online from my previous post. And I want to emphasize that it's almost insane if we can't make money online with free method. It's pretty much possible nowadays.
And I also said that I'm going to share my experience for you to put under the microscope and make your choice on what'll work on your favor using free method to bring in extra income or cash online.
But before I do that, let me share my beginners steps with making money on the net.
At the very beginning, I chose affiliate marketer as a way to haul in the extra cash because:
- that's what most of my reference told me to do
- I was lead to believe that it's the easiest way to start
- I was lead to believe it's the safest way to start
- most importantly, I was lead to believe it's automatic once you set it up
Yeah sure! I was wrong.
I was dreaming.
I was damn naive...
This is what I end up with:
The program is called Empire Internet.
At that point of time (not long ago), he's one of those lucky folks who got into Clickbank before it banned Malaysian. The product I chose to promote that time was 'Affiliate Link cloaker' because I thought there were many Malaysian just like me who want to make money with affiliate marketing.
And link cloaker is a must-have for affiliate (or so I thought).
I was provided a 'cool' marketing tool by the merchant and it was...
...A rebrandable free Pdf report.
Let me translate quickly what you see in the pic. It says, "Rahsia buat duit banyak dengan program affiliate" which translated to 'secrets of making lots of money with affiliate program.'
I wish I could show you owner, Mohd Fairuz blog but the domain was up for sale.
Too bad ey?
It could be fun...
But I didn't stop there.
I keep on learning by going to the first ever Internet Business course in Malaysia, held by renowned Malaysian Internet millionaire Irfan Khairi at the prestigious area of Bukit Bintang (my wife loves this area - shopping heaven!)
It's in JW Marriot Hotel to be exact...
Wooh... what a bomber this one was.
I left the course feeling like I can do better off with just reading the printed book!
And I continue with my online promotion for Empire Internet.
Forum is my favorite marketing channel. 2 favorite ones actually:
First, there's this Wangcyber forum (it looks so much different back then)...
Next, there's Affiliate Jaya (this one did not change much since the day of its inception)...
And I'm still waiting for the 'cheque' to rain in from my marketing effort; right until today.
I'm still waiting...
And I keep posting, waiting, posting, and waiting for that extra cash.
Guess what?
At least I did something right by targeting forum of like-minded people.
But what I didn't know back then was, it takes more than a registered domain with webpages of articles to presell the merchant product.
I haven't discovered the concept of:
And that's when I decided, it's time for a second internet marketing seminar...
- generating targeted traffic
- conversion of that traffic
- mailing list
Also held in Kuala Lumpur, capital city of Malaysia in Berjaya Time Square Hotel.
The speakers were 2 very successful e-commerce traders who still studying in Uni! And I also sign up for their website making workshop the following week in Cosmopoint Jalan Raja Laut.
Both courses are much better than the first one that I've attended and they are much cheaper too! I paid twice the amount for the first millionaire courses and got much less.
And I noticed during the seminar, many attendees wanted to know about Google Adsense and how to make money with it. But the topic was somehow brushed off. I didn't know at that time and I just looked at the person who asked with disgusted-look.
But now I know better.
Looking back to yesteryear, that disgusted-look should have been given to the speakers instead.
Why?
Maybe they don't know how to answer that and just want people to buy their solution instead.
And that would've been a sad conclusion indeed...
Like I said, today (even back then), it's insane NOT to make extra cash online with free method.
