Yup! 2012 AFF Suzuki Cup Semi Final game between Malaysia and Thailand had been pretty frustrating. It ended with 2 for Thailand and nil for Malaysia...
Agregate is 3 (Thai) - 1 (Mal)...
Even if it ended with draw, it's a loss to Malaysia.
The boys had shown high fighting spirit but like I wrote a few days back, defense is going to be the crucial part for Harimau Malaya.
And it's true!...
First, let me get this off my chest first....
The field sucks!!! Perhaps football is not important to Thai but do not let the quality of the field become evidence of that. You can hate football but keep the field clean. How difficult it could be to keep the field clean?
The Ref is double sucks!! Two exclamation marks for that. I'm not an expert in football rules and regulation but the way the Korean Ref handles the game today - well, it's a total suck!
"Shambles!", like the commentator on Astro channel 832 said. One of them, anyway...
But today's lost is not due to these two reasons.
Yes, the boys showed determination, but that alone is not enough. It's a winning factor only if it's combined with the right strategy.
Dato' Rajagopal might know what to expect from the player and he must also know what Malaysian expect.
Not up to expectation, if you asked me...
Mat Yo seems to lead a solo fight upfront.
Lack of support from other sides - how can we expect to produce something from one man effort in football?
Fadli Sas was thrown out, unjustly I might add, from the game, but that's not a defining factor.
What happen to the rest?
Fariza, worked extra hard in the game, and can you guess why?
The defenders...
Field, referee and the whole environment seems to work against the Malaysia team but, perhaps, with more composure, we can produce something.
In fact, the second goal was contributed by lack of composure.
So, better luck next time Harimau Malaya. AFF Suzuki Cup 2012 or years to come will witness how we evolve as a team.
For the fans - keep up the support.
It's not about a game; it's about our country.
