You probably have been fed with methods that requires no technical skills, no list, no websites, in short; NOTHING to achieve it.
Have you seen it?
I have been struggling with getting free traffic for the first one or two years when starting out but now, I know what it entails.
Perhaps you are expecting some spectacular methods from me or maybe some links to useful resources but that is not going to happen.
Why?
I will tell you why; because I am STICKING to what works.
That is why.
And right now, the only thing that works really well for me is creating CONTENT and distributing it.
Doing this serves two purpose.
First, it attracts traffic from the places you submit it to.
Second, you get ranking in the search engines through back-links.
It happens slowly but surely.
In other words, it happens NATURALLY.
My final words:
Stick to what works for YOU to get free traffic.
The rest is speculation.
BONUS:
A little something for you that can help with getting free traffic (not easy though).
Oh! I've made the video myself.
UPDATES: FEBRUARY 7th, 2019
I've touched YouTube for quite a while now.
I've heard and read about some changes that took place, and I wasn't up to speed to catch them all up. Making video and getting traffic from it suppose to be fun and enjoyable but that's not what I'm feeling at the moment.
Perhaps, it got to do with my stolen laptop and all that's in it (including my on-screen video maker software).
And that's that...
Recently, I've been dabbling with another source of free traffic. I find it to be totally cool and it's fun to do. I have basic software that do the job just fine and the outcome from it is awesome, to say the least.
I'm talking about PINTEREST
And here's my piece of virtual real-estate there: Pinterest nezrulh
When I got started with Pinning, I purchase a guide called Traffic Rebirth or sort of.
It's by 2 guys; Greg Konanenko (a Russian Australian?) and Stefan Ciancio (this one is no doubt American). They taught ideas on how to use Pinterest to get more traffic and monetize that traffic.
I guess it's a good start...
Then Greg started his own gig on YouTube; Caffeinated Blogger, and shared, I believe, almost the same stuff they taught in the course which I purchased.
In fact, after doing my own 'due diligence' , I've come across many Bloggers, social media influencers, and other experts teach the same stuff just like the course.
Perhaps, I was a bit desperate back then...
But the fact of the matter is, that course get me started with Pinterest. I stayed on for a few month and I slowed down after I got myself a new job; a full time job. I just glance over Pinterest once a while.
Like other free traffic methods, when we pay no attention to them, they withers.
Pinterest is no exception. Once you pin less, interact less and all 'the other stuff in between' less, the traffic you're getting also become less.
Oh!..
I want to share this too...
Don't expect traffic from Pinterest to come in throng.
It takes time to build followers and it takes time to get them or others to click through to your website. 2 things I learned about Pins. There are 'pinnable' pin and 'click-through' pin.
Pinnable pins will get you more eyeballs - on Pinterest!...
...That means, you'll see nice increased numbers of impressions on your Pin analytics but it's not a guarantee that those eyeballs will click through to your website.
For a click-though, you need Pin that can do just that.
And that's the 'click-through' Pin.
Click through Pin does not necessarily have to be pretty and sometimes, it does not have to be on topic either. People online often display weird behavior and no matter how you want to break it down, it's just weird. It's those mystery of the world wide web.
But most of the time, you can see a pattern and predict certain behavior.
You can use tools like Pin Analytics (available with a business account) or Google analytics. These tools tell you which pins are sending traffic your way.
Then, what you can do is, you tweak your winner or create more of the kind.
Right now, I'm still experiencing with Pinterest and how to bring more traffic using it.
The experts say that Pinterest should be treated as a Search Engine - visual search engine - they call it, more than a social media.
Whatever it is, there's work involve in making the best out of this gig.
It also involve patience and persistence (repeat those to yourself everyday or when you're eye to eye to Pinterest). I've seen good results thus far and maybe I'll share more lessons as I delve deeper into this pinning business.
UPDATE FEBRUARY 14th, 2019
Content are getting eyeballs on the platform and some of the 'curious' eyeballs click through to see the source or to get the whole content.
That's traffic to the website for free! ...
... except, of course, for the time spent creating and pinning those content. But it's all worth it. The results coming are pretty encouraging.
So, what's next?
Once the favorable content has been identified, it's time to scale up the effort to create more of its kind. The plan to do that is already in place and it's going to the execution phase right away.
Everything is just about delivering more of the good stuff ...
... more content - expand or extract (focus) - and more of the effective presentation (how it looks).
And on and on it goes, ad infinitum.
